Noopur Arts Academy is a dance school based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, teaching the classical South Indian dance form of Bharatanatyam. Our school is designed to provide a fun and friendly environment for students of all ages and skill levels, to reach their full potential.
About Nikita
Founded and run by Nikita Varma, Noopur Arts Academy was established in 2018 to share her passion and love for Bharatanatyam with the wider community. Nikita believes in the power of Bharatanatyam to tell stories, share values, and showcase the vast range of human emotions.
Nikita is an accomplished Bharatanatyam and Bollywood dancer with over 20 years of performance experience. Growing up in Sydney, her passion for dance was ignited by her mother, a former dancer. Nikita initially learned Kuchipudi before transitioning to Bharatanatyam and completing her Arangetram in 2016. She has since performed on over 130 stages across Canberra, Melbourne, and Sydney, sharing the stage with numerous South Indian artists and film stars.
At Noopur Arts Academy, Nikita aims to foster a learning environment that is both fun and kind. She treats every individual with respect and encourages them to learn and appreciate the art form to the best of their ability.
